The Phone Book Packrat
Remember that "Seinfeld" episode where Newman was hoarding mail in Jerry's storage space? Apparently Debra Gottrell of New Mexico really liked that episode because she decided to apply it to her own life. Gottrell was supposed to deliver phone books for Directory Plus, but instead was caught with over 100,000 directories that she collected in three storage spaces. As a result, Directory Plus lost $500,000 in revenue and Gottrell has been indicted for fraud. (Source: Woman Indicted for Allegedly Stashing Phone Books. Retrieved August 11, 2008 from FOXNews.com.)
