Too Damn Hot
A lawsuit filed by a Florida woman claims that a night of underage drinking got a little too hot and resulted in third-degree burns. Twenty-four-year-old Shannon Hyman is seeking $15,000 in damages from the Green Iguana Bar & Grill because four years ago she was encouraged by a bartender to drink a "flaming shot" of 151 rum. Hyman says the flames scared her before she could take the shot, resulting in her being burned on the head and chest. According to Hyman—who is studying criminal justice at University of South Florida and will undoubtedly get an "A" in excuses—the incident would not have happened if the bar had denied her entry, as she was only 20 at the time.
