A Dish Best Served Accurately

If you're going to avenge your boss for planning to fire you, first make sure your boss is actually planning to fire you. Marie Lupe Cooley, an administrative assistant at Steven E. Hutchins Architects, saw a help wanted ad placed by her boss and assumed he was looking for her replacement—when in fact, he had placed the ad for his wife. In a passive aggressive response to the suspected firing, Cooley went into the office on a Sunday night and deleted $2.5 million worth of computer files, which amounted to seven years of the firm's work. Cooley was charged with damage in excess of $1,000 to computers and will probably not be getting flowers for Secretary's Day this year.
